WHY DO PEOPLE TRUST SEER?

Almost everywhere, every province in Thailand has a person who does a specialistic occupation that is called ‘SEER’. Seer, told that they had talent which normal people do not have. They knew your life background and who you were in your last life, some of them can predict the future. No one knows if that talent was real or not but plenty of people decide to seek decent seer to ask what they have been curious, most asked questions are about love, life, and work.

Seer using various methods to predict people’s future or to make them know what is the one’s background. Sometimes Seer was called Fortune-teller.

Fortune-telling is the practice of predicting information about a person's life. The scope of fortune-telling is in principle identical with the practice of divination. The difference is that divination is the term used for predictions considered part of a religious ritual, invoking deities or spirits, while the term fortune-telling implies a less serious or formal setting, even one of popular culture, where belief in occult workings behind the prediction is less prominent than the concept of suggestion, spiritual or practical advisory or affirmation.
Common methods used for fortune telling in Europe and the Americas include astromancy, horary astrology, pendulum reading, spirit board reading, tasseography (reading tea leaves in a cup), cartomancy (fortune telling with cards), tarot reading, crystallomancy (reading of a crystal sphere), and chiromancy (palmistry, reading of the palms). The last three have traditional associations in the popular mind with the Roma and Sinti people (often called "gypsies").

Another form of fortune-telling, sometimes called "reading" or "spiritual consultation", does not rely on specific devices or methods, but rather the practitioner gives the client advice and predictions which are said to have come from spirits or in visions.

Thai people were growing with the environment which enlightened us to believe in the spirit and unnatural souls. As we can see in the news that when people found some strange incident happened which the causing could not be found, they started to pray and believe that god made it. That is why seer was so popular in our society because we cannot find out where their talent were from.

As a business field, some seer who could predict everything right would being trusted by people, every time we need them to see our past and future (and also many people ask for the solution if the seer said their life is not so good) we have to pay an amount of money depend on how much seer wants. It can be free of charge, 99 baht until ten thousand baht.

Because most of Thai people trust in Buddha, the temple is like the centre of belief that  when we pray, we receive the feeling of relieve and power to do good things. So when we disappointed from something, apart from temple, we need someone who are being guaranteed that they can help or know what is going on next in our life to tell us what to do.

We just need someone to tell us ‘everything will be alright’
